The Jennifer Larson Healthcare Hero Award recognizes local individuals who contribute to healthcare out of genuine altruism, without seeking personal gain.
If you know someone in the west side of Stanislaus and Merced counties who is dedicated to creating healthcare solutions that benefit communities, please nominate them today. We want to recognize and honor the healthcare heroes that make a positive difference, yet are too humble to tell others about the great work they do.
Let's celebrate amazing people!
Who is Jennifer Larson?
The Jennifer Larson Healthcare Hero Award honors the remarkable legacy of Jennifer Larson, the inaugural chair of Legacy Health Endowment, whose dedication and contributions have significantly impacted healthcare and families in Central California for more than three decades.
Jennifer's profound influence on healthcare in Merced and Stanislaus counties stems from her pivotal roles as the founding chairwoman of the Legacy Health Endowment Board of Directors when the organization was formed in 2014 after the sale of Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock. Prior to joining the LHE Board, she served on the Emanuel Medical Center Board for nearly two decades, including 11 years as its chairwoman.
Jennifer's personal experiences, including caring for an aging parent, fueled her passion to improve healthcare outcomes for all members of the community.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from CSU, Stanislaus, was a founding member of Cornerstone Covenant Church in Turlock and is co-owner of Kirk Larson Construction Co. and Larson Development.
Jennifer's visionary approach to utilizing charitable resources to ensure communities' access to high-quality, affordable healthcare services has been groundbreaking.
“Jennifer tirelessly championed LHE's mission to pioneer and fund healthcare solutions, recognizing the vital importance of equitable healthcare access, especially in rural areas like those in Merced and Stanislaus counties.”
